Wanda Rivera, Environmental Services, Linen Technician
Wanda joined Oak Hill Hospital’s environmental services department in March of this year. She is our linen technician and her responsibility is to distribute all of the linens throughout the hospital. Wanda lives in Spring Hill with her two sons, Pierre V. Agosto, 19, and Dior A. Agosto, 17. Wanda was nominated by a new associate who said that when she worked with Wanda in linen she was “very happy to show me how to do things. She was very patient with me as I learned this new area of the hospital. I just want to say thank you to Wanda.” Wanda says the thing she likes most about Oak Hill Hospital is certainly, “the people.”

Sandy Lee, CT/MRI Technologist
Sandy began working in the CT and MRI department of the hospital in January of 2003. However she primarily works in our out-patient CT. She also helps out in in-patient CT and began helping perform MRI scans in February of this year. Sandy feels that her job is to provide a quality exam while making each patient as comfortable as possible and to educate the patient on the exam. She believes that her job is to show patients that she cares. A patient wrote to us saying, “By far, Sandy was one of the most kind, caring, confident staff members at Oak Hill Hospital that I’ve ever had occasion to be treated by. She put me at ease with her bright, beautiful smile and made wonderful conversation which diminished my anxiety at having the CT scan. She is an asset to your organization.” Sandy believes that she works with a great team, “where we all try to show our patients that we care by providing quality work.”

Theresa Slinkard, PCT III
Theresa began working at Oak Hill Hospital in October of 2001. She works in our surgical intensive care unit most of the time but also assists between SICU and MCCU (Medical Critical Care Unit). Sandy says that she loves her job because she’s “always doing something different and feel privileged to work with such a wonderful, caring and compassionate team.” Her nomination stated that “Theresa is a PC/MT secretary and discharges all these duties a step above standard good work. She does all her work with love and kindness, not common in any situation especially in a high stress job like hers. She manages it with a smile.” Theresa says, “I have worked on every floor except the OR, and I am very impressed with how the staff take care of each other along with their patients. Associates welcome new hires with open arms and are ready to share all their knowledge. And a very special thanks to Pam Lavigne for taking a chance and believing in me.”
